Celebrities speak at Great Outdoors Show

Ray Mears, Brian Blessed, Bill Oddie and the Arctic Foxes share tales of their travels

This year's Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show provides a stage for inspirational speakers from all walks of outdoors life including climbing, adventure travel and photography.

Over three-days, seven theatres will host some of the world's most avid adventurers and explorers, who between them have conquered some of the most difficult expeditions known to man, from climbing Mount Everest to crossing the Arctic Circle.

Visitors to the show should head to the World Theatre to hear about the latest expeditions from well known outdoors enthusiasts and TV personalities Ray Mears, Brian Blessed and Bill Oddie. Join Ray as he shares his unique album of photographs collected through his television career and be inspired by Brian's limitless enthusiasm for the outdoors in his seminar, Adventure Unlimited.

Adrenalin junkies will be all ears in the BMC Summit theatre listening to Leo Houlding, a rock-climbing prodigy from Appleby in Cumbria who recently out climbed Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson in his Audi to the top of a mountain, the Arctic Foxes, the first British all-female team to cross the Greenland ice-sheet, and Alan Hinkes, the only Briton to summit all 8000m peaks in the world.

Those with a passion for outdoors photography will be inspired by the work and words of renowned landscape photographer, Colin Prior, who will be passing on his tips for capturing that perfect shot.

The Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show gives visitors a unique chance to hear first hand accounts of triumph and tragedy from these intrepid adventurers.
