Why not try something out of the ordinary - or make an unusual gift for someone¬ Catanger Llamas is situated in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside, often referred to as the county of 'squires and spires' with idyllic villages and beautiful rolling countryside, unspoilt and blissfully quiet. Although you can't actually ride them, these lovely pack animals will willingly carry your rucksack, whilst you enjoy the beautiful scenery. What better way to get away from it all than by leading a gentle llama along bridleways, farm tracks and country lanes. A perfect way to de-stress. (You could even take one of our donkeys along). We trek all year round, weekends and weekdays and everyone gets their very own llama for the entire trek. Each trek is personally guided and has a maximum of 6 llamas. Available for corporate entertaining, large family groups, charity fundraising, team building and adventure groups, clubs, schools and retreats. Make a short break of it, come and explore this undiscovered part of the English countryside.

We offer a wide range of trekking experiences which include, Half Day Trek, Picnic Trek, On Farm Trek, Private Parties and Corporate treks. Please scroll down the page to view them all.
Half Day Experience
We begin with an introduction about llamas followed by instruction on handling and meet the llamas. We then trek across country taking us through arable, pasture and woodland. The trek covers 4 – 4 ½ miles and takes around 2 hours. Back at the farm you are invited to visit our mothers and babies and to see what we make from our llama fibre. You are welcome to picnic on the farm before or after your trek or you can sample one of the local country Inns. All year round trek.

Picnic Trek
The Picnic Trek begins as in the half day trek but we travel further across country, all off-road. After about 2 hours we stop for a home prepared picnic lunch and rest for an hour or so whilst the llamas do likewise. The trek back to Catanger takes just under an hour and on our return we visit the mothers and babies followed by tea and cake in the llama lodge. The distance covered is around 6.5 miles. Lunch and all refreshments are included. Available April - October.

Special ‘On-farm’ Treks.
Lasting just an hour and walking through specially mown rides through our 20 acre wood at Catanger, these treks are for those who cannot manage the 4 mile treks across country. You are then welcome to visit the moms and babies and to picnic of the farm.
Not suitable for children under 7 years. Available on selected days all year round. No vouchers.
