The cooking courses, at Meadow Barn, a recently converted "cruck barn", are an interesting mix of handling, cooking, and eating locally produced food at its best - using traditional classic recipes. Cookaway cooking courses also provide the added enjoyment of a restful farm holiday break in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside not far from the Welsh Borders.

Leisure Venue Description: Cookaway Food Break, cooking courses usually extend over one or two days and involves demonstrations, shared hands-on food preparation and practical work either in pairs or individually.
The two day Weekend Break cooking course is perfect for those wishing to escape into the countryside on a Friday evening. Arrival is any time after 6pm. Guests can either eat out before they arrive or, after settling in, try out a local restaurant, or inn - details can be provided. Two 3 course lunches and one 4 course evening meal will be prepared during the cooking course, which ends after Sunday lunch at approximately 3.00pm. Please note that an evening meal is not included on night of arrival. An optional light supper can be provided on a Sunday evening.
The two day "Food Festival" Breaks - memorable Cooking Breaks, which are run on similar lines as outlined above, but include a visit to one of the two excellent and very enjoyable food festivals, held during September each year. The Ludlow Food Festival or the Abergavenny Food Festival are visited on the Saturday. Guests will be able to watch well known chefs demonstrating new recipes and browse the many specialist food and producer stalls.
