Built in the first half of Henry VIII’s reign, Layer Marney Tower is in many ways the apotheosis of the Tudor Gatehouse.
The stunning Long Gallery at Layer Marney Tower is a wonderful place to hold a party or celebration. With its polished floor, wood panelling and a Jacobean fireplace, the Long Gallery is the perfect place. It is a large room, measuring 79ft by 19ft. There is a large entrance hall with stairs leading to the main room, and on up to the balcony. If you want to recreate a Tudor banquet, the waiting staff will be delighted to dress accordingly, and we can suggest entertainers who specialise in such antics as fire eating, juggling or jesting. Catering at Layer Marney Tower is organised by Bouquet Garni. Their food is excellent, and they will do their utmost to assist with all your plans.
