Roaches Hall is situated in the most outstanding of locations. Nestled under the famous rocks of The Roaches between Buxton and Leek, it is ideally situated for anyone wanting a ‘get away from it all’ location, yet in the heart of England. Roaches Hall is reached over a winding driveway through the fields and woods under the famous Hen Cloud rocks. Roaches Hall was once the hunting abode of Sir Philip Brocklehurst. Sir Philip’s brother, Henry Courtney lived in the house and amassed a small zoo in the grounds including yaks, llamas, deer and wallabies. These later roamed freely over the Roaches before dying out in more recent years.
